child is a leading-edge pre-school learning environment, specifically designed to exceed all requirements by the Ministry of Education in terms of education standards, equipment, staff qualifications and teacher/child ratios, monitoring and reporting, safety and security, health and nutrition, climate and environmental responsibilities.

Located in a modern, innovative building at Smales Farm, child encompasses five seperate pre-schools with five seperate outdoor playgrounds. Each pre-school is a stand-alone entity encompassing its own teachers, bathroom, sleep room, programmes, and creative indoor and outdoor areas.

This unique concept allows us to tailor each pre-school’s environment, equipment, teaching resources and programmes to that age group. By maintaining small class sizes and high quality teacher/child ratios, we can ensure close, personal attention between our children and their teachers. Our 4 years 4 months - 5 years preschool caters for 26 children with four staff which allows for an exceptional teacher/child ration of 1:6.

The preschool curriculum for this age at child focuses on pre-reading, pre-writing and pre-math skills developing multiple levels of literacy and numeracy to give them the confidence for their transition into primary school.

Our 4 - 5 year olds have various worksheets and workbooks. They split off into small groups with a teacher to focus on the skills needed for primary school. These include phonics, numbers, alphabet, listening skills and fine motor development (e.g. holding a pencil, cutting with scissors etc). These workbooks can be an asset when enrolling your child at school (especially private schools) as it is an excellent record of their achievements and each child’s unique abilities.
